ribbons
15 May 2020
We danced like ribbons intertwined across a starlit void
from each other ourselves eloigned and returned.
Puissant her form,
scratching scars through dust,
I saw in our future sunfire,
though hers alone.
Seeing my attention diverted
she laughed,
and I veiled myself behind stone and water.
And seeing my attention diverted
she claimed the sky and the void,
denying me.
Blue sky became blue water’s reflection
As stone burned red so too the sky burned the sky.
Until green changed the air.
Thus I abide her scornful anger,
and grow.
